Bernie Piscopo joins BOB.health as Client Services Executive
From left to right: Chloé, Neil, Julien, Marc and Bernie

It’s been a little over a month since we met. It all started over breakfast after a flustered commute (King’s Cross at rush hour is all I’ll say). His ever so thoughtful, subtle whisper to our lovely waitress for a serviette so I could dab the beads of sweat away and compose myself. A small gesture? It felt like the sign of something deeper.

Since then, we made things official. I met his friends and colleagues and now we all see each other most days. When I say official, I signed an employment contract following my interview over breakfast with my new boss, then met the rest of the wonderful BOB.health team. (Sorry – this isn’t the beginning of a Mills & Boon novel). I’m happy but not surprised to say that that initial sprinkle of kindness has been one of the many wonderful values that has continuously radiated in everything we all do together. Warming up those chilly lunches, chats about the serious stuff, and get togethers over the not so serious stuff as winter pops its head around the corner.

It’s serendipitous that we all found each other. This bodes well. Next year is a big year for us.

The importance of kindness is what unites us.

It shouldn’t be something you only go home to at night or feel over the weekend. It should be something that is extended to, and received from, your team mates. From good intentions within our little Camden office, we hope we can make more far-reaching good happen.

So, what are we up to?

Up and down the country, NHS staff not only look after the health of patients, but the health system more widely through change projects. These projects could be managing the introduction of an innovative new medicine or saving lives through a new sepsis triage system. Some have their successes, while others have their struggles. Either way, they are initiated with an eye on the greater good. Lessons learnt in one corner of the country could help someone trying to do something similar in another. And that’s where we come in. The NHS exudes kindness, and our new initiative, BOB.health is here to help it spread. We’re building a platform that provides a space for stories to be shared throughout the NHS, enabling peers to support and learn from each other, while receiving some well-deserved kudos.

Join us along the way – our door is always open. Sign up here to stay in touch or get involved.
